PREMA®… The Best Kept Secret in Dentistry-Until Now

PREMA®…
the Best Kept Secret in Cosmetic Dentistry - Until Now!

Recent articles in JADA* and Dentistry Today** now are exposing thousands of dentists to PREMA for enamel microabrasion. This procedure is both a conservative alternative to bonded composite or porcelain veneers and an adjunct or alternative procedure to tooth whitening. PREMA from Premier Dental Products Company offers a fast, economical, and permanent treatment to remove many noticeable superficial, enamel imperfections and leaves the tooth with a smooth, lustrous surface.

Virtually everyone wants a more perfect smile, as demonstrated by the continued increased demand for tooth-whitening treatments. Yet, cost and/or aversion to invasive procedures can be significant obstacles to patient acceptance. For many cosmetic deficiencies, caused by dysmineralization or decalcification, Prema can be the treatment of choice.

Before

After

PREMA's patented compound contains a hard, fine abrasive powder in a water-soluble gel, combined with a mild concentration of hydrochloric acid. PREMA not only removes superficial enamel dysmineralization stain and decalcified enamel, but it also forms a glass-like finish to the residual enamel surface. This surface has been shown to resist acid challenge better than untreated smooth enamel surfaces and also is less susceptible to the accumulation of plaque.

PREMA is applied using a high-torque/low-rpm rotary angle which polishes away the superficial enamel by a simultaneous erosive/abrasive action.

Prema being applied

In many cases, enamel microabrasion can be combined with a two-week professional tooth-whitening treatment for optimum tooth-color improvement. PREMA followed by a Perfecta® tooth-whitening regimen results in loss of an insignificant and unrecognizable amount of enamel and permanent improvement in the patient's appearance. The results from both treatments will last for years.

The use of PREMA and Perfecta together is good dentistry that provides your patients a great looking smile from an efficacy and ethical standpoint.
